This wool applique class is for all skill levels. This group will neet once a month and is divided up into groups according to your experience. Beginners will learn the basics of wool appliqué and work to complete a project of your choice. You will learn our tried and true fusing technique, cutting tips, basic stitches & learn about the use of various threads. We know once you learn the basics, you will fall in love with this medium and get lost in handwork! For our advanced members, you will learn more difficult stitches and explow display ideas. Choose from one of our many Wool Applique project kits at Farmgirl Quilts Studio.

Enjoy a day of discovery and relaxation with a new technique and project. Create a series of circular rings that tell a story about your life experiences. These layered rings are cut and sewn without regard to being perfect! Our lives are messy! These rings represent all the bumpy paths we’ve had in our busy lives.....Joy, grief, warmth, love, uncertainty, silliness, humor, anger and creativity. A starter kit is needed for your base rings and will be enough to complete several during class. See class requirements for supplies. Join Patty for a fun day of creativity and discovery!

PBGE249: GE Designs "FRIDA" Quilt Class

Put those new Stripology Ruler skills to work! Come and make GE Designs FRIDA Quilt, with our Certified Stripologist, Patty Beyer! The pattern includes instructions for six sizes—from Crib to King—so you can make Frida for any space. Random block rotation and accent fabric placement add visual interest, ensuring every quilt is unique. comes in 6 different sizes and goes together easily. It is a great way to use a layer cake or the lovely yardages you’ve been saving for that rainy day! Patty will take you through each step of the pattern, to create blocks and assemble them into your quilt. The Stripology XL Ruler will be used for creating and squaring your blocks. To make the most of your time during class, you are required to have your fabric pre-cut into 10” squares prior to class. Block assembly is the focus of this class. The finished quilt size you choose, will depend on the amount of blocks you will complete. You will take home with you the knowledge and confidence to complete your quilt at home. Pattern Required. Prior to class, assistance will be available to help you choose fabrics that will contrast and lend itself well to the pattern. Instructor's quilt sample it is available for viewing here at the Studio.

A new monthly group: Perfect for hand-sewers, felt lovers, slow-stitchers, and creative makers who enjoy working with new and vintage textiles and simple construction techniques. Not designed to fit any particular doll, per se, but rather just a sweet, mini wardrobe item as a 3D base for personal expression for stitch collage to display or gift. The 3/16 scale finished coat length is around 8.5". Pattern includes two mini hangers. Each month a different coat stlye will be offered (six styles in all)and supplies will be available to complete two coats.

WFJ: Wool Felted Journals and Beyond...

Using wool batts a felting needle, assorted threads, epheera and a button closure you will create a softsided journal from the heart. Our new canvas buttons will be a part of the project.
