Ibanez AAD50LG Advanced Acoustic Guitar - Natural

The Ibanez AAD50CE Advanced Acoustic grand dreadnought acoustic-electric guitar was designed from the ground up to deliver richer, brighter and fuller tone, with a wide dynamic range for peak versatility. Featuring slightly larger-than-typical proportions, Ibanez has dubbed this body shape the “Grand Dreadnought,” designed for powerful sound and comfortable ergonomics. It has X-M bracing for a clear bottom and crispy treble sound with trimmed warm mid-range. The solid sitka spruce top and sapele back and sides provide a wide frequency range, producing shimmering highs, tight mids and a full-bodied low end. It has an okoume neck for greater playing comfort, topped with a purpleheart fingerboard for eye-catching aesthetics and rich tone.

The AAD50CE includes an Ibanez T-bar undersaddle pickup, which accurately translates its full sound through any amplification system. The Ibanez AEQ-TP2 preamp provides the extra punch of on-board EQ, along with a convenient and easy-to-read digital tuner and 2-band EQ. The bridge is made of purpleheart, transferring string vibrations directly to the body, and includes Ibanez Advantage bridge pins with a special bulb-shaped end for easier gripping and positioning.

Grand Dreadnought Body

Through a rigorous R&D process spanning several years, Ibanez has reimagined the dreadnought from the ground up, pursuing the height of rich sound, robust lows, and rich tone. This brand new body shape is called the Grand Dreadnought. Proportionally, the Grand Dreadnought body is 5% larger than a standard dreadnought, allowing for more volume, richer tone, and a more powerful low-end response. It's also extremely comfortable to play thanks to the extensive consideration given to its ergonomics.

X-M Bracing

After spending years of trial and error, Ibanez realized the innovative X-M bracing to generate the optimal sound to stand out onstage. The carefully designed scalloped X-bracing, the allocation of tone braces, and finger braces transmit the string vibration efficiently through the bridge to the body. The X-M bracing creates the clear bottom and crispy treble sound with trimmed warm midrange, yet provides a wide dynamic range that is highly responsive.

Functional Tapered Headstock

The newly designed headstock shape is the result of thorough research and investigation. Its tapered shape provides lighter weight, as well as a straight string alignment which enhances tuning stability and reduces any neck twisting effect.

Purpleheart Fretboard and Bridge

Purpleheart produces a rich midrange with crisp trebles.

Ibanez Advantage Bridge Pins

These pins really are an advantage over old-fashioned pins. Advantage pins are easier to take out and easier to put in than standard pins. A special bulb-shaped end makes the pin easy to grip and also prevents the pin from being pushed in too far. Best of all, with Advantage, the pin and string stay put.
