- Job Overview -

• We are looking for a friendly, experienced, and motivated person to join our Duluth team. The role consists of a variety of responsibilities - most importantly, assisting customers with sewing machine purchases, fabric and notions selections, and maintaining displays throughout the retail space.
• We want staff members who are friendly, go-getters, self-starters, and love helping fellow sewists. We stress the importance of providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers.
• This is a mentally and physically demanding job. You must be a multi-tasker and able to move bolts and machines around the store. We get a lot done in a day, and the lively environment is a really fun place for staff and customers alike.
• Applicants must know how to sew with a sewing machine.

• We seek to fill this position at our Duluth store located at 6603 Sugarloaf Parkway, Suite 121, Duluth, GA 30097.
• This is a part-time position; we are looking for someone who can work no less than 20 hours per week. Normal shifts are from 10 AM to 4 PM.

• Staff members are expected to work an occasional Saturday shift.

- Duties -

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products within the store.
• Provide sewing machine demonstrations to educate customers about features and benefits and assist in their purchasing decisions.
• Maintain knowledge of current promotions, sales, and store policies to effectively inform customers.
• Assist customers in reading patterns and finding coordinating fabrics for a project.
• Cut fabric to order and provide guidance on notions and other merchandise.
• Operate POS system and take payment on purchases.
• Teach new owner lessons focused on operation of machines to customers that have purchased in our store.
• Fulfill online orders
• Assist with inventory management, including stocking new items and organizing merchandise displays.
• Follow through on sales leads, customer requests and special orders, and other tasks that extend beyond a single shift.

- Skills -

• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with diverse customer groups.
• Point of Sale software experience is a plus.
• Excellent computer skills are a must.
• Ability to provide effective product demos that enhance customer understanding and drive sales.
• Familiarity with sewing, quilting, and embroidery techniques is highly valued.
• You must be a quick learner, willing to spend time outside of your regular shifts to learn the features, benefits, and operation of a variety of sewing and embroidery machines.
