Hello and Happy July! Definitely feels like summer as we enjoy having our roll up door open to let the air flow and extend Indigo Purls outside. We've been day-dreaming of all kinds of things to try at Indigo Purls. So here's what we've planned for this month, from summer hours, to a big bin sale, trunk shows, more classes, and fun craft-alongs. What do you have planned for your July? Summer Hours Starting July 3 Thursdays and Fridays we will close at 6 pm starting July 3. Great Big Bin Sale July 17 through 20 Making room for new yarns, we've got a big bin sale planned with lots of yarns, fiber, accessories, books, patterns, needles, and notions priced to go. I have fond memories of the bin sale at Weaving Works back in the day when I was a new knitter, so I am delighted to make this an event to remember for Indigo Purls. This is a great event for stocking up or finding treasures for your stash. Bargains will be arranged in bins by price under our pop-up tent in front of the shop. When they're gone, they're gone! Plymouth Yarns and Trunk Show
From left, Calza socks (stocked in 4 basic solids), DK Merino Superwash, Dream DK, and Hot Cakes. Calza socks is a sturdy yarn that will last and is worth your hard work turning that heel. DK Merino Superwash is core-spun, giving it bounce and incredible stitch definition. This yarn will not sag or pill because of the quality of the yarn structure. Dream DK (formerly Dream Baby) comes in a big selection of colors at an affordable price point, and is very soft and just a touch of halo. Finally, Hot Cakes is a worsted weight self-striping yarn in huge 200 gram balls, a wool blend with lots of yardage. Here's a few samples loaned and on display until July 27. Patterns for these are free with yarn purchase while supplies last.
Jadawoo Designs Trunk Show Saturday July 12 So excited to welcome Jessica Harmon, talented Indie dyer, to Indigo Purls for a one-day show. Jadawoo specializes in vivid and bright colors in a variety of quality yarn bases. Here's a glimpse of beautiful Jadawoo yarns!

Then start Tour de Fleece on July 6 with the Spinner's Breakfast at Indigo Purls to kick off this month-long challenge. The Tour de Fleece follows the Tour de France and the Tour de Femmes as a just-for-fun way to spin your stash, learn a new technique, or master a new fiber. The group communicates on Discord under the Team Indigo-Go Channel. Email us at info@indigopurls.com if you'd like to join the Discord and get updates. Sign up for the Spinner's Breakfast (need a head count) on our website.

We will offer 12 spots for students to learn four different no-stress and little-mess dye techniques you can do at home. Also planned is an overdye workshop for helping you bust your stash of yarn you don't love anymore by making it interesting with new color. In the realm of knitting Michelle will be teaching Entrelac with a beautiful shawl knitalong in Universal Offbeat self-striping yarn. The Thursday group will choose another great knitalong project as an option for drop-in knitters. Rumor has it that Sunday Crafternoon will depart from stuffies to take on a knitted bag! And crochet skill-building continues with Maddy offering next level Beginning Crochet II for learning crochet in the round and other techniques. Also in the works is a class on how to crochet the "Battenburg Square." Update on Rewards Maddy cracked the code, and we now have a much simpler way for you to accrue points and discounts. For every $200 you spend, you earn a $10 off coupon. The $10 off coupons can be redeemed on purchases of $25 or more. The coupons expire six months after you earn them, so be sure to use them in time. We've continued to track what you've earned with your purchases, so please ask about your eligibility for discounts when you make your next purchase in the store. We will check your tally and apply the appropriate discounts at the register. What's On the Needles? (or spindle!) We continue to craft amidst all the busy work of the store, classes, and dyeworks! Maddy is spinning a lovely luxury blend of fiber that includes Shetland, Angora, Alpaca, and Silk on her Jenkins Caribou Horn turkish spindle (see picture). Kerry is spinning a couple of braids of a Merino/Seacell blend from her stash on her Ashford Joy wheel, and making progress on the Ranunculus sweater in Berroco Pima 100. Michelle is finishing up her entrelac shawl in Universal Offbeat, and working up a kid's sweater pattern "Li'l Berwick Bulky Raglan" in our new Universal bulky weight Major for a new sample.
So many possibilities for community... We are grateful for the tremendous response to our community-building events, groups, craft-alongs, and classes! Shared enthusiasm for craft is contagious, and your embrace of our offerings is the best form of encouragement. We listen to your feedback, your ideas, and your day dreams. We are dreamers too. Here's hoping we all have a "dreamy" July! Kerry |
